Jaime Bordenave

Jaime Bordenave is the founder, president and CEO of The Communities Group, which specializes in technical assistance, development services and technology support of the housing, infrastructure and urban development sector.   

Over the past thirty-five years, Bordenave has established and built several businesses:  Self-Help Manpower, Inc.; Cabrillo Cooperative Housing Corporation; Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation; Rural Community Assistance Corporation; and, The Communities Group.

Bordenave has worked throughout the U.S., as well as México, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.  His specialty areas include:  housing finance and development; property management; software applications development; affordable homeownership; cooperative organizations; and urban revitalization.  He has served as a trainer in these areas, and has published numerous articles and studies, as well as several books.

He graduated from St. John\'s College magna cum laude, with a B.A. in Philosophy, after which he undertook studies at St. John\'s Graduate School of Theology, with a specialization in Social Justice, and special studies in Mid-Eastern history and culture.

Bordenave currently serves on numerous community boards, including CF Banc Corporation, City First Homes, Community Development Fund, Greystone Community Development Enterprise, Hampton Roads Ventures, and Capital Trust Agency Community Development Entity.
