The Haryana Slum Clearance Board, Government of Haryana has
appointed DHV-TCGI Alliance as the Consultants for undertaking
the feasibility studies, execution and implementation of various
project components towards improving the solid waste management
in 26 towns of Haryana. The project cost of Rs. 2500 Million
is funded through part loan assistance from HUDCO and National
Capital Region Board. The project envisages feasibility studies
and preparation of detailed project reports in the first six
months and assisting the Client in appointing the executing
agency, supervising the construction and implementing the
project components over 30 months as the Project Management
Consultants.
Services provided include studying the
existing scenario, which include details about solid waste
generation, prevailing mechanism for collection, transportation
and disposal with emphasis on regulatory requirements, studying
the adequacy of existing infrastructure facilities, sample
analysis for physical and chemical composition of wastes and
the expenditure incurred by the municipality. The assignment
focuses on developing a comprehensive integrated development
strategy for effective solid waste management and suggesting
options for effective solid waste management process including
private sector participation in various areas like collection,
transportation and disposal, addressing various issues related
to institutional, financial, legal and community involvement
and training aspects. Finally assisting the Client in appointing
the executing agency, supervising the construction and implementing
the project components.
